In this project a lot of aspects of Industrial Design Engineering came together. The main goal was to redesign an electric nail polisher to a hand-driven, human powered version. With this the whole electronic system, aesthetics and ergonomics were redesigned with careful research and calculation. Every component was designed to fit the whole, considering aesthetics, ergonomics, material, production and costs. It was a challenge to balance the designed aesthetics with the required functions. With my team, Sander Verbeek, Daniel Houwing and Niek van Dijk we created different 3D-printed prototypes and a fully functioning computer model in Solidworks. The final result is ready to be produced. The project was supervised by Frans Taminiau and Wouter Kets
